TNT Overdrive is an American video clip television series. It premiered on TNT on August 10, 2024 and airs weekly on Saturday nights immediately following AEW Collision. The show features "high-adrenaline" moments and stories presented by professional wrestlers from All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Synopsis

[edit]

TNT Overdrive is a block of programming that uses segments from numerous existing Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) shows. Since the clips are meant to be "high-adrenaline", they are taken from shows such as Investigation Discovery's High Speed Chase. The segments are presented by members of the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) roster; for example, Will Ospreay presented the clips for the first episode of Overdrive and other wrestlers were part of the block's bumpers.[1]

Development

[edit]

TNT Overdrive was announced on August 6, 2024. Despite using AEW talent like All Access, Overdrive is not an AEW-branded show, instead opting to be branded after the network. The show's announcement also coincided with the final year of AEW's first agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery, who own TNT; the initial deal was signed in 2019.[2][3]

Release

[edit]

TNT Overdrive premiered on August 10, 2024. Each "episode" is two-hours in length and airs every Saturday night immediately following AEW Collision, one of two AEW shows (alongside Rampage, which airs on Friday nights) that currently air weekly on TNT.
